摘要: The most widely accepted hypothesis of the origin dog, Canis familiaris, is that dog a domesticated gray wolf, lupus. This paper reviews evidence for this conclusion, finds many unanswered questions and conceptual gaps in wolf hypothesis, explores alternative likely ancestor domestic was medium-size, generalist canid.
