摘要: In the eighth century B.C.E. there lived in Jerusalem a prophet of royal descent whose name was Isaiah ben Amoz. His oracles, mostly poetry, are concerned with contemporary political scene dominated by Assyrians, fate Jewish people history general, mutual relationship between God and Man, ultimate Mankind fullness time. For Jews, these oracles perhaps second importance only to Pentateuch. Christians, they greatest relevance because no other book influenced Jesus same extent. And for humanity so much expression an idealistic Weltanschauungthat quoted wherever educators statesmen try imbue their audiences vision of, hope for, better world. They collected sixty-six chapters, constituting first longest “Latter Prophets.”
