摘要: Summary: Purpose: Benign familial neonatal convulsions (BFNCs), an inheritable epilepsy that occurs in neonates but not adults, is caused by hypofunctional mutations genes codifying for the M-type K+ current. In attempt to develop vitro model of this disease, we tested whether blocking M-current with linopirdine induces epileptiform activity brain slices from animals different ages. Methods: Horizontal hippocampus–entorhinal cortex were obtained (1–2 weeks after birth) and adult (8–9 rats. Extracellular field recordings CA1 region performed. After recording control conditions, was added bath, recorded continuously 3 h. 4-Aminopyridine, a drug commonly used induce vitro, as our experimental conditions. Results: Bath perfusion induced only Epileptiform consisted interictal-like ictal-like activity. rats, erratic contrast, 4-aminopyridine able both rats. Conclusions: We demonstrated blockade produces developmental pattern similar observed BNFCs. This could be can study cellular mechanisms epileptogenesis features BFNCs, well some therapeutic strategies.
