摘要: Microgel particles with a soft repulsive interaction potential are investigated particle tracking methods to study the phase behavior of soft-sphere systems. The use poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) allows effective volume fraction sample be tuned via thermal modulation without altering number density. This for investigation an assembly as function its initial packing In particular, we have elucidated influence colloid “overpacking” on freezing (φeff,f). These studies thereby illustrate interplay between energetics/packing forces occurring at colloidal and polymer chain length scales.
