摘要: We report a rare case of ectopic ACTH syndrome associated with undifferentiated carcinoma the ascending colon. A 62-year-old woman developed hypokalaemia and metabolic alkalosis markedly elevated serum cortisol plasma levels. High-dose dexamethasone (8 mg/day) did not suppress increased urinary 17-hydroxycorticosteroid 17-ketosteroid excretion. Barium enema abdominal computerised tomography showed Borrmann II type tumour in colon, multiple metastatic nodules liver bilateral enlargement adrenal glands. Histological examination resected primary colon cancer areas distinct neuroendocrine, exocrine, squamous differentiation. production by was confirmed radioimmunoassay immunohistochemistry. This is unique multidirectional differentiation causing syndrome.
