摘要: Lithium indium diselenide (6LiInSe2) has drawn interest in recent years as a thermal neutron detector due to its high volumetric detection efficiency. Enriched 6Li, the single crystalline semiconductor can reach efficiencies approaching 80% at thickness of 0.5 cm. With Q-value 4.78 MeV, material also offers neutrongamma discrimination capabilities. Identification and implementation contact scheme that is both robust reproducible important for commercial potential. Thorough testing myriad schemes yielded viable Ohmic with sufficient adhesion endure gold wire wedge bonding. Furthermore, characterization semiconducting properties, such charge carrier mobility-lifetime constant this radiation identify application space material. Using approximation Hecht relation, electron product was found be on order 3.8–90 cm2/V mean ionization energy 400 eV/e-h pair.
