摘要: BACKGROUND Pleomorphic dermal sarcomas (PDS) are frequent UV-induced of the skin intermediate grade malignant potential. Despite fact that PDS have a noteworthy potential to recur (up 28%) as well metastasize 20%), there no specific clinical guidelines with respect follow-up these patients. Moreover, little is known about clinical, histological or molecular prognostic factors in PDS. OBJECTIVE The aim present study was identify risk predict relapse large multicentre sample cohort which could aid optimize personalized treatment recommendations regarding surgical safety margins and adjuvant radiotherapy. METHODS Patients diagnosis were selected from nine European institutions based on histopathologic criteria described by Fletcher. Clinicopathologic data collected statistically analysed calculating univariate hazard ratios 95% confidence intervals use Cox proportional-hazards model significance level P < 0.05. an incomplete excision tumour excluded. RESULTS Univariate regression analysis possible for progression-free survival (PFS) performed 92 patients revealed margin <2 cm significantly associated [hazard ratio 4.478 (95% CI 1.536-13.055), P = 0.006]. Ulceration better prognosis [0.396 (0.174-0.904), P = 0.028] whereas radiotherapy did not reach statistical improve [0.775 (0.231-2.593), P = 0.679]. Gender, age, immunosuppression, intratumoural necrosis, location, vertical thickness horizontal diameter influence PFS CONCLUSION We identified absence ulceration These findings may be implemented into both primary further monitoring
