摘要: According to the second law of thermodynamics total entropy a system is increased during almost any dynamical process. The positivity specific heat implies that increase associated with heating. This generally true both at single particle level, like in Fermi acceleration mechanism charged particles reflected by magnetic mirrors, and for complex systems everyday devices. Notable exceptions are known noninteracting moving periodic potentials. Here phenomenon localization can prevent heating beyond certain threshold. occur classical (Fermi-Ulam model) quantum levels (kicked rotor). However, it was believed driven ergodic will always without bound. Here, on contrary, we report strong evidence transition periodically thermodynamic limit. reminiscent many-body energy space.
