摘要: Polyethylene glycol (PEG) can induce genetic transformation in both bacteria (Escherichia coli) and yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) without cell wall removal. PEG-mediated of E. coli is technically simple yields transformants with an efficiency 10(6)-10(7) transformants/microgram DNA. Detailed analysis the parameters involved reveals basic differences between PEG standard CaCl2 methods for coli. far simpler than existing protoplast comparable efficiency. The new described here may prove to be general utility performing a wide variety organisms.
