摘要: Although moisture requirements of Eisenia fetida are considered to be generally known, very few in-depth studies have been performed. The preferences juveniles as well adults this species were determined in towers containing cow manure with a particle size bigger than 500 and smaller 1000 μm an organic matter content 54%. clitellate worms showed wider preference range the but deposited most their cocoons within narrow 65%–70% — preferred by 80% juveniles. Growth newly hatched at various levels over period 90 days that growth rate final biomass influenced availability low high levels. change specimens consecutively produced monitored different A clear relationship between mass producing was established presumably favourable conditions. Furthermore, relation cocoon production also determined, which increased concomitantly increase production. study clitellum development above 64%. onset was, however, earliest slightly lower levels, from it is concluded optimal level for clitella not necessarily cocoons.
