Postnatal persistence of spongy myocardium with embryonic blood supply.

摘要: Focal presence of the embryonic pattern myoarchitecture and a lacunary blood supply was found in left ventricular wall five infant hearts. Four these hearts showed various malformations; one case cardiac fibroma. The persisting intertrabecular spaces sinusoids communicated with lumen; there appeared to be some communication coronary branches. spongy myocardium were lined continuous layer endothelial cells, thus resembling microscopical appearance adult cold-blooded vertebrates rather than phase myocardial development warm-blooded animals.
