摘要: The increasing evidence for a pure amnestic-like profile in multiple sclerosis (MS) introduces the role of hippocampal formation MS episodic memory function. aim present study was to investigate structural and functional changes mildly-disabled patients with without impairment. Thirty-one or impairment 16 healthy controls (HC) underwent MRI 3.0 T scanner. Patients were categorized as preserved (MP) impaired (MI) based on verbal visual scores extracted from Brief Repeatable Neuropsychological Battery. acquisition protocol included high-resolution 3D-T1-weighted, diffusion weighted imaging echo-planar sequences analysis gray matter (GM) density, perforant pathway area (PPA) tractography, connectivity (FC), respectively. Compared HC, we found decreased left bilateral GM density MP MI patients, respectively, fractional anisotropy increased radial diffusivity PPA reduced FC between hippocampus superior frontal gyrus, precuneus/posterior cingulated cortex lateral occipital gyrus/angular gyrus. only differences FC. Specifically, showed right temporo-occipital fusiform/lingual gyrus (increased FC) well supramarginal (decreased FC). In conclusion, highlight early detection neuropsychologically-detected deficits performance, when both integrity are affected.
