摘要: A study was conducted to compare the synergistic efficacy of detomidine, ketamine and their cocktail in pigeons (Columba livia). For this study, 15 adult healthy were divided into three equal groups A, B C. Birds intramuscularly administered detomidine @ 1.4 60 mg/kg b. wt., respectively. Pigeons group C received + Ketamine 0.7 30 wt. Induction sedation anaesthesia smooth all groups. Mean duration induction 11.1 2.03, 11.0 1.49 1.6 0.48 minutes B, C, In but light observed accompanied by superficial analgesia, while birds showed deep alongwith analgesia. elicited hypothermia, respiratory depression bradycardia till complete recovery, hyperthermia tachycardia with rapid respiration. persisted for 54.2 21.82 mean recovery period 49.9 5.91 minutes, had 47.7 8.06 103.5 27.52 periods 52.6 9.64 61.3 17.26 Recovery rough It concluded that pigeons, (alone) is safe handling least painful procedures, detomidineketamine as intramuscular anaesthetic major surgical procedures.
