摘要: Abrin and ricin are two toxic glycoproteins present in the seeds of Abrus precatorius Ricinus communis. Both toxins extremely potent, upon intravenous injection into mice doses about 13 ng abrin or 65 lethal course a few days. With increasing amounts toxin survival time is reduced, but even very high fail to reduce less than 10 hours (Fig. 1). After certain amount can be predicted with surprising accuracy. also eukaryotic cells culture, picograms/ml will kill most within 24 hours. The have no effect on growth bacteria.
