摘要: The components of reliability for eight anthropometric measures were studied in 95 male and 134 female subjects from the Second National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES II). contributions to unreliability variance (Sr2) that occur as a result measuring errors (Sp2, imprecision variance) intrasubject fluctuations measurement due physiologic factors (Sd2, undependability) estimated (Sr2 = Sp2 + Sd2). Unreliability was then related between-subject (S2) estimate (R 1 - (Sr2/S2)) measurement. Four measurements (weight, height, sitting arm circumference) had reliabilities excess R 0.97. In first three these, made up two thirds or less unreliability, undependability (Sd2) stable by weeks. Lesser but still acceptable obtained triceps subscapular skinfolds, bitrochanteric breadth, elbow breadth 0.81-0.95). For these variables (Sp2) major source error. Furthermore, between observers twice high more than within variables, evidence is single most important measurements. standard deviations skinfolds increased linear manner with skinfold thickness corresponding an coefficient variation 13-19 per cent. None other showed such scale effects. Analyses kind suggested will help epidemiologists decide whether can be improving precision, there need improve place. Reliability appears adequate all anthropometry NHANES II.
