摘要: CR-39 plastic detectors were exposed to (i) α-particles from an 241 Am source with different fluences (up ∼ 8.1 x 10 6 cm -2 ), (ii) fast neutrons (∼ MeV, a fluence of 7.6 11 ) accelerator, and (iii) gamma-rays 1.3 4 Gy) 60 Co source. The neutron-recoils produce latent tracks in the CR-39, which are thought be accompanied by long-lived free radicals. After irradiation, all samples subjected electron spin resonance (ESR) analysis. neutron- alpha-irradiated failed yield observable ESR signal, thus ruling out possibility using place track counting for measurement moderate doses alphas or CR-39. Co-irradiated produced signal at ≥ 100 Gy showed good linear dose curve up maximum used Gy. decay rates these stored room temperature °C have also been examined.
