Tests of different media for the collection and identification of air-borne saprophytic fungi

摘要: Abstract 1. The experimental results to date indicate that Mehrlich's medium with 75 Gm. of sodium chloride per 1000 c.c. H 2 O will give a significantly higher mold count plate than the casein hydrolysate now employed in air-borne survey. This supports growth large number saprophytic fungi common this region. 2. There is evidence, however, still not best possible, since readings from modified Smith-Humfeld salt agar show almost double obtained on and triple medium. 3. As result, therefore, experiments further medium, purified malt agar, reduced strengths are being continued. 4. None these media disclose presence spores obligate parasites or some other as mushrooms wood-rotting which may often be present considerable numbers, but they considerably increase value surveys conducted.
