摘要: Cardiac ventricular responsiveness to serotonin appears in rat postinfarction congestive heart failure (CHF), mainly mediated by 5-HT(4) receptors chronic dilated CHF and 5-HT(2A) acute CHF. To differentiate between the effects of left (LV) hypertrophy on 5-HT(2A)- 5-HT(4)-mediated inotropic response, male Wistar rats with increasing LV (AB1-3) (ABHF) 6 weeks after banding ascending aorta were screened for contractile function vivo (echocardiography) ex papillary muscles, mRNA expression level determined RT-PCR. Both AB1-3 ABHF displayed remodelling. In ABHF, systolic atrial diameter increased cardiac output decreased compared AB3. Serotonin induced a positive response (PIR) muscles correlated degree reaching maximum ABHF. contributed PIR. The contribution hypertrophy, upon transition failure. No 5-HT(2B)-mediated PIR was observed, consistent 5-HT(2B) only non-cardiomyocytes. 5-HT(2A), levels further AB3, but did not correlate hypertrophy. also terminally failing human hearts. conclusion, functional are differentially While 5-HT(2A)-mediated is linearly seems increase dilatation, as seen
