The geometry of intermolecular interactions in fluorine-containing 8-hydroxyquinoline cobalt(II) and copper(II) complexes: Synthesis, crystal structure and characterization

摘要: Abstract Two novel complexes, tetramer [Co 4 L 8 ] ( 1 ) and dimer [Cu 2 (L = ( E )-2-(2-fluoro-4-methoxystyryl)-8-hydroxyquinoline), were synthesized characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffractions, powder diffractions (PXRD), thermal-gravimetric analyses (TGA), infrared radiation (IR) elemental (EA). In the solid state, both of their supramolecular structures constructed C H⋯F dispersive interactions. addition, differences in structure between have been discussed: complex H⋯O F⋯π intermolecular interactions, however, mainly F⋯F interactions π⋯π stacking. Obviously, F group which takes part attractive with other molecules is important to construct plays different roles two complexes. Magnetic analysis indicates that antiferromagnetic coupling dominates magnetic properties.
