Core Excitations in Resonant X-ray Raman Scattering of Titanium Oxides: An Approach to Studying Electronic Structures

摘要: The resonant X-ray Raman scattering spectra of rutile (TiO2), BaTiO3, and Ti2O3 were observed over a wide energy range around the Ti K absorption edge. Through these measurements, we revealed process by core excitonic excitations. Several types excitations consisting 2p holes with 3d or 4p electrons, which are prototypical excitons, observed. azimuth dependence single-crystal BaTiO3 an anisotropic state in ferroelectric phase. results show possibilities for extended use to investigate electronic structures various materials.
