摘要: Radiation increases mutation frequencies at tandem repeat loci. Germline mutations in γ-ray-irradiated medaka fish (Oryzias latipes) were studied, focusing on the microsatellite Mismatch-repair genes suppress by directly removing altered sequences nucleotide level, whereas p53 gene suppresses genetic alterations eliminating damaged cells. The contribution of these two defense mechanisms to radiation-induced instability was addressed. spontaneous frequency significantly higher msh2(-/-) males than wild-type fish, there no difference between and fish. By contrast, irradiated p53(-/-) exhibited markedly increased frequencies, their same as that In spermatogonia testis, radiation induced a high level apoptosis both but negligible levels results demonstrate msh2 protect genome integrity against different pathways: direct removal mismatches elimination
