摘要: Previous work has demonstrated that social attention is related to early language abilities. We explored whether we can facilitate word learning among children with autism by directing areas of the scene have been as relevant for successful learning. tracked eye movements faces and objects while watched videos a woman teaching them new words. Test trials measured participants' recognition these novel word-object pairings. Results indicate typically developing children, pointing speaker's mouth labeling object impaired performance, likely because it distracted participants from target object. In contrast, autism, holding close improved performance.
