摘要: Random walk (RW) or Continuous Time Walk (CTRW) are recurring Monte Carlo methods used to model convective and diffusive transport in complex heterogeneous media. Many applications can be found, including fluid mechanic, hydrology, chemical reactors modeling. These easy implement, very versatile flexible enough become appealing for many because they generally overlook of deeply simplify the building explicit meshes required by deterministic methods. RW CTRW provide a good physical understanding interactions between space scales het-erogeneities phenomena under consideration. In addition, result efficient up-scaling methods, especially context flow fractured present study, we review several situations coping with various spatial scales, different insights into applications. advantages downsides also discussed, thus providing few avenues further works
