Physical abuse in basic-education schools in Aden governorate, Yemen: a cross-sectional study.

摘要: Physical abuse in school has lifelong consequences affecting child health and educational achievements. A study was designed to assess the prevalence of physical experienced by pupils basic-education schools Aden, Yemen, examine risk factors associated with it. cross-sectional covering 1066 7th-9th grades from 8 different districts Aden governorate were randomly selected. Answering an anonymous self-administered questionnaire, 55.7% reported at least once their lifetime (73.2% males versus 26.6% females). Teachers main perpetrators (45.4%). statistically significant association found between sex, age group, family type father's education. Significant predictors on multivariate regression male sex (OR=7.89) extended (OR=1.36). requires serious consideration authorities, families community large.
