摘要: Drosophila Polycomb group (PcG) and Trithorax (TrxG) proteins are responsible for the maintenance of stable transcription patterns many developmental regulators, such as homeotic genes. We have used ChIP-on-chip to compare distribution several PcG/TrxG proteins, well histone modifications in active repressed genes across two complexes ANT-C BX-C. Our data indicate colocalization repressive complex 1 (PRC1) with Trx DNA binding protein Pleiohomeotic (Pho) at discrete sequence elements significant chromatin assembly differences inactive regions. binds promoters noncoding transcripts. Most strikingly, state, Pho covers extended domains over kilobases. This feature Pho, observed on polytene chromosome puffs, reflects a previously undescribed function. At hsp70 gene, we demonstrate mutants that is required transcriptional recovery after heat shock. Besides its presumptive function recruiting PcG their site action, our results now uncover plays an additional role repression already induced
