摘要: Summary 1. Global freshwater biodiversity is facing rapid decline. Freshwater conservation planning aims to reduce this decline by efficiently prioritising actions. 2. This Special Issue presents nine papers from five continents demonstrating a wide range of approaches spatial prioritisation for and two that explore directions research implementation in planning. 3. Despite an emphasis on running waters data-rich regions, these collectively offer perspectives advancing the science practice systematic across realms, including data-poor regions standing-water ecosystems.
