Secretory and humoral antibody responses to Blastocystis hominis in symptomatic and asymptomatic human infections.

摘要: The study included 3 groups of individuals, in the first 2 they had positive stool microscopic examinations only for B. hominis indicating blastocystosis, with and without gastrointestinal symptoms, respectively, while last group apparently healthy individuals no parasites stool. Stool serum samples these were subjected to detection anti-B. fecal IgA IgG antibodies by indirect ELISA, antigens double sandwich ELISA. In symptomatic infections microscopy recorded first: specific secretory humoral antibody responses at a prevalence 100%, 83.3% 86.6%, an increased significant difference (P 0.05) each from controls, second; absence (P>0.05) controls nor other. explanations implications results are discussed.
