摘要: Summary 1. Ecologists increasingly wish to use phylogenies, but are hampered by the technical challenge of phylogeny estimation. 2. We present phyloGenerator, an open-source, stand-alone Python program, that makes pre-existing sequence data and taxonomic information largely automate estimation phylogenies. 3. phyloGenerator allows nonspecialists quickly easily produce robust, repeatable, defensible phylogenies without requiring extensive knowledge phylogenetics. Experienced phylogeneticists may also find it useful as a tool conduct exploratory analyses. 4. performs number ‘sanity checks’ on users’ output, users should still check their outputs carefully; we give some advice how do so. 5. By linking tools in common framework, is step towards open, reproducible phylogenetic workflow. 6. Bundled downloads for Windows Mac OSX, along with source code install script Linux, can be found at http://willpearse.github.io/phyloGenerator (note capital ‘G’).
