摘要: Much of the wide acceptance and popularity Reginald Painter's classification mechanisms plant resistance to insect pests stems not only from its simplicity apparent generality, but also because it accurately describes responses. Based on some his own previous work (Painter 1936, 1941), Painter in classical book “Insect Resistance Crop Plants” (1951) proposed that resistance, as observed field, could be explained by three fundamental which he named: (a) nonpreference, (b) antibiosis, (c) tolerance. many subsequent workers have stressed fact these are most frequently interrelated although they may operate independently.
