Distribution, ecology, vegetation and conservation survey on the relictual population of Carex panormitana Guss. (Cyperaceae) in Sicily (Italy)

摘要: We report the results of research on Carex panormitana Guss. (Cyperaceae) population in Sicily, carried out within its locus classicus at Oreto River (Palermo). The survey led to a morphological, biological and autoecological characterization, definition current distribution site, an estimate number individuals analysis conservation status. risk status was also assessed species ascribed category Critically Endangered (CR), accordance with CR B1ab (ii, iii, v) EN C1 IUCN criteria. Moreover, phytosociological meso-hygrophilous vegetation which is dominant allowed description association Caricetum pendulo-panormitanae ass. nova, turn framed into alliance Magnocaricion elatae (ord. Magnocaricetalia, cl. Phragmito-Magnocaricetea).
