摘要: BACKGROUND: Although rosin acid derivatives have received attention in polymer synthesis recent years, to the best of our knowledge, they rarely been employed as epoxy curing agents. The objective study reported here was synthesize rosin-based flexible anhydride-type agents and demonstrate that flexibility a cured resin can be manipulated by selection with appropriate molecular rigidity/flexibility. RESULTS: Maleopimarate-terminated low weight polycaprolactones (PCLs) were synthesized studied for curing. chemical structures products confirmed using 1H NMR spectroscopy Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. Mechanical thermal properties resins studied. results indicate both epoxy/anhydride equivalent ratio PCL diol play important roles resins. CONCLUSION: Rosin-based anhydride-terminated polyesters could used bio-based A broad spectrum mechanical obtained varying length polyester segment epoxy/curing agent ratio.
