摘要: Serpentinites, deformed in mantle subduction zones, are thought to contribute significantly seismic anisotropy of the upper and have therefore been great interest with studies on deformation, preferred orientation, elastic properties. Here we present a combined study classical sample from Val Malenco, Italy, investigating microstructure texture state-of-the art synchrotron X-ray neutron diffraction methods measuring ultrasonic velocities both multi-anvil apparatus novel instrument measure 3-D spheres. Both, results velocity measurements compared, discussing advantages disadvantages. From spherical velocities, tensor properties can be derived by inversion. Also quantitative measurements, modeled self-consistent averaging. Good agreement between microstructural models is observed.
