Traumatic dental injuries in mixed dentition of school going children in karachi, pakistan

摘要: Background: Traumatic dental injury is one of the common emergencies. Aims and Objectives: To assess reasons for teeth mortality among school going children in Karachi, Pakistan. Materials methods: A cross sectional study was conducted private Pakistan during March 2013 to April 2013. School aged between 7 12 years were selected on basis non-probability convenient sampling. The questionnaire included data demographic profile subject like age class grade. Questions asked regarding fall, collision, bicycle, sports, fights, non-accidental injury, number injured fracture. descriptive analysis performed continuous variables i.e., categorical distribution traumatic injuries based etiology, relation dentition, type. Results: Children 8-9 old mostly affected (58%). most reason trauma bicycle falling (64%). It observed that participants had tooth fracture (64%) with II extensive crown involving dentine without pulp (x2=42.43, df=16, p<0.001). Conclusion: concludes cause commonly involve pulp.
