摘要: Abstract Feasibility of analyses for OH and other components in regions as small 20 μm across has been demonstrated with a view toward analysis spatial variation tooth composition. Laser-Raman spectra fluorhydroxyapatite chlorhydroxyapatite halide compositions corresponding to up 40 per cent replacement hydroxyl ions are reported. The lattice mode region below 300 cm−1 the three pure apatites also newly observed, that hydroxyapatite being reported first time known. Several line intensities or frequencies viable candidates use quantitative kind degree intersubstitution, e.g. F enamel. Substitution Cl rather than can be distinguished by shifts changes ratios certain phosphate-mode intensities. With present data, sensitivities 5 (e.g. 612 597 intensity ratios), approximately 2 (612 451 cm 1 deficiency (3573 intensity) indicated. Better sensitivity he anticipated refined techniques. A trial application human enamel showed, through large amounts visible-light induced fluorescence, apatite-like exhibiting both broadening mode-frequency shifts.
