Characterization of Oryza rufipogon-derived resistance to tungro disease in rice

摘要: Rice tungro disease (RTD) is caused by the interaction between spherical virus (RTSV) and bacilliform (RTBV), both of which are transmitted green leafhoppers (GLH). In order to define resistance against RTD in rice cv. Matatag 9 was developed interspecific hybridization RTD-susceptible IR64 Oryza rufipogon, reactions viruses GLH were evaluated comparison with -resistant cultivars. The incidences infection RTSV RTBV significantly lower than those susceptible parent IR64; however, no substantial differences accumulation observed once infected viruses. Symptoms milder IR64. A higher level antixenosis compared levels antibiosis comparable another GLH-resistant cultivar, Collectively, these results suggest that tolerance contribute apparent 9, although possible involvement other mechanisms cannot be excluded.
