摘要: The survey presented of metal concentrations in Crassostrea margaritacea growing at 25 sites along a 500 km stretch the South African coast was undertaken to provide data for national marine pollution monitoring program and supplement from sediment water sampling surveys estuaries region. Concentrations Zn, Cd, Cu, Pb, Fe, Mn, Ni, Co, Cr C. were determined, indicated that some contamination Victoria Bay environment had occurred; oysters this site accumulated Cr, possibly, Co. Oysters mouth Papenkuils River Swartkops also found be contaminated with lesser extent. Great Fish unexpectedly elevated concentrations. Because there are no urban or industrial developments river, it likely these elements derived leaching mineralized sequences catchment, geochemical recommended ascertain source metals. (JMT)
