摘要: The sector of the northern Antarctic Peninsula between Tula and Shackleton Fracture Zones provides evidence for subduction south-east Pacific oceanic crust under continental during Late Mesozoic through Miocene times. pre-subduction depositional history this includes formation a marine siliciclastic turbidite wedge (?Permian-Triassic) deposited in marginal basin setting. It was folded thrust retroarc before Middle Jurassic to form Trinity accretion foldbelt, which extended several hundred kilometres along margin Gondwanaland. foldbelt deeply eroded levelled subaerial conditions, then unconformably covered either by Middle-Upper alluvial lacustrine deposits (in north) or Early Cretaceous basic lavas south).
