The effect of immunosuppressive agents on periodontal disease in man.

摘要: Established chronic gingival lessions were studies in four categories of patients. One groups healthy subjects was kept plaque-free (CO), while the second group (CP) moderate accumulations dental plaque permitted. The third (UH) comprised patients with uremia and hemodialysis. A fourth (IS) had received renal allografts on an immunosuppressive regimen. Differential blood counts serum immunoglobin quantitation from UH IS gave mean values within normal ranges. Gingival biopsies obtained each subject. connective tissue inflammation (CTI) scores compared between groups. Despite abundant local accumulations, displayed essentially same CTI scroes as controls showed a significantly lower (p < 0.05) score than two question. CP (controls plaque) higher (P 0.01) those UH, CO It is concluded that immunologic homeostasis important periodontal man.
