摘要: Perinatology is a new medical discipline, originating in the 1960s, and aiming to prevent, diagnose treat problems mother, fetus neonate, prior, during after delivery.  As above issues, applying perinatology, are diachronically present, it of interest explore how they were previously viewed coped with, particularly ancient times. Ancient Greece considered cradle Western medicine. Thus, reasonable question arises, what did Greeks think about unusual conditions, encountered around delivery, like premature birth, small for gestational age babies, twin pregnancy, as well inability give birth vaginally, thus apply we nowadays call an emergency cesarean section.
