摘要: Correlative species distribution models are based on the observed relationship between species' occurrence and macroclimate or other environmental variables. In climates predicted less favourable populations expected to decline, in they persist. However, little comparative empirical support exists for a climate suitability population performance. We found that performance of 93 34 plant worldwide - as measured by in situ growth rate, its temporal variation extinction risk was not correlated with suitability. correlations demographic processes underpinning indicated both resistance vulnerability pathways responses climate: suitable climates, plants experienced greater retrogression (resistance pathway) variability some rates (vulnerability pathway). While range strategies occur within climatic niches, more constrained be suitable.
