摘要: PURPOSE To summarize the main findings from research on food uses of Pine Bark Phenolic Extracts (PBPE), their origin, methods extraction, composition, health effects, and incorporation into products. METHODS A narrative review all relevant papers known to authors was conducted. RESULTS PBPE are mainly extracted bark Pinus pinaster. They generally rich in procyanidins effects form nutritional supplements include effect some forms cancer, diabetes, eye skin health. Their method extraction influences greatly composition yield, commercially suitable still be developed. Incorporation products raises challenges related bioavailability subsequent bioactivity sensory properties final CONCLUSION represent an opportunity for development functional foods with phenolic-rich bioactive compounds.
