摘要: Abstract 1. Oxygen consumption, body temperature, and thermal conductance were measured as a function of ambient temperature in 10 species shrews (2 European Soricinae, 2 Crocidurinae 6 African Crocidurinae). 2. In Soricinae the basal rate metabolism (BMR) was higher than expected for mass, about 38°C. Crocidurinae, regardless their origin, had normal BMR 35°C. 3. Thermal shrews. 4. From these data it is possible to point out some relationships between environment, water availability thermoregulation.
