摘要: ABSTRACT Neurocognitive problems have been endemic to the HIV epidemic since its beginning. Four decades later, these persist, but currently, they are attributed HIV-induced inflammation, long-term effects of combination antiretroviral therapy, lifestyle (i.e., physical activity, drug use), psychiatric, and age-associated comorbidities heart disease, hypertension). In many cases, persons living with (PLWH) may develop cognitive as a function accelerated or accentuated normal aging rather than itself. Nonetheless, such impairments can interfere care, including medication adherence attending clinic appointments. With more half PLWH 50 years older, 30%-50% all meeting criteria for HIV-associated neurocognitive disorder, those be vulnerable developing problems. This state science article provides an overview current issues implications practice, policy, research promote successful functioning in PLWH.
