摘要: The kinase receptor c-MET (MET proto-oncogene, tyrosine kinase; also known as the hepatocyte growth factor receptor) and its ligand factor/scatter (HGF/SF) are two promising, potentially therapeutically exploitable targets in head neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). is commonly overexpressed cancer cells compared to normal epithelial HGF/SF often detected at high expression levels tumor-adjacent mesenchymal cells, inducing paracrine activation of support tumor proliferation. Blocking this activity has been shown reduce proliferative capacity HNSCC cells. Importantly, signaling outputs intersect with those multiple other pathways that drive or otherwise contribute survival spread, including EGFR, HER2, SRC, STAT3, PI3K, RAS, GRB2, others. In review, we emphasize roles HGF well potential for therapeutic targeting axis.
