摘要: The user perspective of image search remains poorly understood. the purpose this study is to identify and investigate key issues relevant a user’s interaction with images approach search. deeper understanding these will serve inform design retrieval systems in turn better user. Previous research explores areas information seeking behavior, representation science, query formulation, retrieval. theoretical framework for includes an articulation scenarios as adapted from Yoon O’Connor’s taxonomy types, Copeland’s Engineering Design Approach rigorous qualitative research, Anderson’s Functional Ontology Construction Model building robust models human behavior. series semi-structured interviews were conducted expert-level users. Interviewees discussed their motivations search, types searches they pursue, varied approaches well how decide that need has been met which factors influence experience content analysis revealed themes repeated across responses, including collection 23 emergent concepts 6 categories. functional further insight into themes. Results both analyses may be used future exploration topic. Implications are directions indicated. Among possibilities investigations collaborative ubiquitous
