摘要: The following paper was constructed from research assessing the socio-economic impacts of Avian Influenza (AI) outbreaks encountered between October 2005 and March 2006 on Turkish village chicken producers, using data obtained an interview survey 64 families in six different provinces Turkey where outbreak recorded. revealed that: 1) villagers’ protein consumption dramatically reduced as most them could not afford or didn't prefer to purchase products. 2) income sales (on average, it accounted for 33% total those selling birds eggs) disappeared. Moreover, gender implication notable generally used by housewives. 3) 55% stopped consuming products due AI fear. However, 97% re-started after 9 months outbreaks. 4) 65% stated that they believe crisis artificially manipulated commercial firms with collaboration media wipe out backyard production. 5) respondents found government's disease control efforts, organization timeliness compensation payments successful. 54 amount payment insufficient.
