摘要: We investigated seed morphology in 34 species of the genus Lysimachia and 14 two subspecies six additional genera (Anagallis, Ardisiandra, Asterolinon, Glaux, Pelletiera, Trientalis), which have been shown to be closely related to, or are placed within previous molecular studies. studied shape, coat structure, surface patterns. Three major types shape were identified: (1) sectoroid, (2) polyhedral, (3) coarsely rugose with concave hilar area. In addition, seeds may keeled winged. The outer layer is either sponge-like adhering only loosely inner it thin tightly underlying tissue. Seed patterns can divided into main types: reticulate, tuberculate, vesiculose, (4) colliculate, (5) undulate, (6) poroid-alveolate. mostly congruent phylogenetic relationships. A reticulate pattern diagnostic of, e.g. subgenera Palladia Hawaiian Lysimachiopsis. Mapping characters onto a recent tree, reveals that they provide potentially synapomorphic character states for various subclades Lysimachia. Salient examples include turns out clade comprising Pelletiera plus Asterolinon linum-stellatum layer, characterizes vulgaris, L. thyrsiflora, terrestris, an analogue apparently evolved parallel Trientalis europaea. also discuss possible habitat factors favored independent evolution particular such as winged lineages.
