摘要: Restoring natural capital is essential for biodiversity and ecosystem services that support human well-being. Although ecological pathways restoration are a major area of study, little known about the economic to which these efforts must be linked. This linkage, however, important maximizing return-on-investment (ROI) from projects. We developed general ROI framework guide investments in restoration. applied this reforestation montane pastureland Hawaii, focusing on two specific conservation targets: native forest birds understory plants. found restoring partial tree cover most attractive birds, while plants require investment full Nonlinearities present likely elsewhere, generate substantially different profiles across potential information can design policies supporting cost-effective practices help ensure limited resources achieve greatest impact.
