摘要: There is a strong interest in understanding how coral calcification varies with changing environmental conditions, especially given the projected changes temperature and aragonite saturation due to climate change. This study explores situ variation rates of Acropora downingi northeastern Persian Gulf relative seasonal temperature, irradiance state (Ω arag). Calcification A. were highest spring lowest winter, intra-annual rate was significantly related (r 2 = 0.30) 2 = 0.36), but not Ω arag 2 = 0.02). Seasonal differences are obviously confounded by other conditions vice versa. Therefore, we used published relationships from experimental studies establish which parameter(s) (temperature, irradiance, and/or arag) placed greatest constraints on (relative maximum rate) each season. Variation largely attributable (possibly ~57.4 39.7% respectively). predict that ocean warming may lead increased during decelerate spring, fall summer, resulting net deceleration for Gulf.
