摘要: Optical networks based on wavelength-division-multiplexing (WDM) techniques are very likely to be omnipresent in future telecommunication networks. Those deployed order face the steady growth of traffic, which is for a large part Internet related. In resulting IP-over-WDM scenario, TCP/IP constitutes an important fraction traffic transported over these As IP becoming increasingly mission-critical, it utmost importance that (and hence supporting transport networks) able recover quickly from failures such as cable breaks or equipment outages. To end, several network scenarios and corresponding protection restoration strategies have been devised. It clear some trade-offs will made choose appropriate strategy. this paper, we investigate effects recovery actions behavior TCP, being ubiquitous protocol used by today's users. We examine influence different parameters speed actions, changing length routes followed client data (TCP flows), changes available bandwidth, etc. Thereby, focus what TCP end-users care about, i.e., number bytes end-to-end within certain time interval.
